Separation Anxiety Services – Terms & Conditions

Effective from: 24 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to Separation Anxiety Assessments, supported Separation Anxiety Training Programmes and ongoing separation anxiety support provided online by Being Dog (Zaira Battaglia).

Some sections of these Terms & Conditions apply only to particular services, such as a supported training programme or Continued Support. Where this is the case, this is made clear in the relevant section.

By booking a service with Being Dog, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them before your service begins.

Current prices, payment options and details of what is included in each service are provided on the Being Dog website and/or confirmed with you before booking.

Payment is due according to the arrangements confirmed for the service you have chosen. Where an 8- or 12-week programme is paid for by instalments, this does not make the programme a monthly or four-week rolling service. You are booking the complete programme; instalments simply allow you to spread the cost.

If you book a supported training programme within 14 days of your Separation Anxiety Assessment, the £110 assessment fee will be deducted from the programme price.

1. Services and payment

If you have booked a training programme, it begins on the agreed start date and runs for the number of weeks you have selected, subject to any pause agreed with Being Dog.

Separation anxiety training is individual to each dog. Your training will be adapted according to your dog's responses and progress rather than following a fixed timetable or predetermined duration target.

Regular practice is an important part of the process. You will normally be encouraged to train on approximately 4–5 days each week, with rest days included. The frequency and type of training may be adjusted where appropriate for your individual dog.

You agree to provide accurate information about your dog's behaviour, health and circumstances and to let Being Dog know about significant changes that could affect training.

2. How your programme works

Separation anxiety training works by gradually helping your dog experience being alone without becoming distressed. Training should therefore remain within the limits recommended for your dog.

During your programme, you should avoid leaving your dog for longer than they can currently cope with, outside planned training exercises. Even a single experience of distress or panic can affect your dog's progress and may require training to be adjusted or rebuilt from an earlier comfortable stage.

Being Dog understands that unexpected or unavoidable situations can sometimes arise. If you are concerned that you may need to leave your dog for longer than they can currently cope with, please discuss this with us wherever possible so that we can consider practical management options and adapt training where appropriate.

3. Training and absence management

Training videos and information you provide are used to assess your dog's responses and guide the next stages of training.

Support is provided during your programme through the communication and video-review arrangements included in your chosen service. Messages and videos will be reviewed as soon as reasonably possible during Being Dog's normal working days, but immediate responses cannot be guaranteed.

Please let Being Dog know about changes that may affect your dog's behaviour or training, including illness, injury, medication, significant changes within the home or changes to your dog's routine.

4. Communication and video review

Online consultations are arranged throughout your programme according to you and your dog's needs.

We understand that plans sometimes change. If you need to rearrange an agreed consultation, please let us know as soon as reasonably possible and we will arrange another suitable time.

Rearranging an individual consultation does not normally extend the overall duration of your programme.

5. Consultations and rescheduling

Sometimes circumstances make regular training temporarily difficult. If you are going away, your dog is unwell, or you are otherwise unable to train consistently, please contact Being Dog. Where appropriate, we can agree to pause your programme and resume your remaining support later.

Wherever possible, maintaining regular training is preferable. Separation anxiety training builds gradually on your dog's previous comfortable experiences. After a break, we cannot assume that your dog will be ready to continue from exactly where they left off. When training resumes, we may need to reassess your dog's current comfort level and rebuild from an earlier stage.

Pauses should be agreed with Being Dog in advance wherever possible and will normally be for a maximum of three months. Longer pauses may be agreed in exceptional circumstances.

If you are paying by instalments, an agreed pause does not normally pause your payment schedule. Instalments remain due on the dates originally agreed unless Being Dog agrees otherwise.

If you stop training or communicating without arranging a pause and we are unable to re-establish contact after reasonable attempts to reach you, Being Dog may treat the programme as ended.

6. Pausing your programme

You may choose to end your programme before its agreed end date.

If you end your programme early, any amount payable or refundable will be calculated fairly, taking into account the service and support already provided and any reasonable loss Being Dog incurs as a direct result of the cancellation.

As longer programmes are offered at a reduced rate in return for a longer commitment, the discounted rate for the full programme may no longer apply if you end the programme early. Where appropriate, the amount due may therefore be calculated by reference to the shorter programme that most closely reflects the period of support you have received.

Any amount payable will not exceed Being Dog's reasonable loss. Being Dog will take reasonable steps to minimise any loss where possible. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.

Being Dog may also end the service if it is no longer safe, appropriate or reasonably possible to continue providing it, including where there is a serious or repeated failure to follow agreed arrangements. If Being Dog ends the service, any appropriate refund will be considered according to the circumstances and the services already provided.

7. Ending a programme early

8. Further services and ongoing support

Unless otherwise agreed or updated Terms & Conditions are provided, these Terms & Conditions will continue to apply to further separation anxiety services you subsequently book with Being Dog.

After completing a programme, you may choose to book another training programme, a one-off post-programme consultation or Continued Support, depending on what you and your dog need.

If you book a further training programme before your current programme ends, you will receive a 12% loyalty discount on the price of the new programme.

Continued Support is provided one month at a time and does not require a longer-term commitment. If you do not wish to continue for another month, simply let Being Dog know by email or WhatsApp before your next payment is due. Your support will then end at the end of the period you have already paid for.

Current prices and service details will be confirmed when any further service is booked.

Because separation anxiety training is provided remotely, you will need suitable equipment that allows you to observe and record your dog during training exercises.

Being Dog does not provide cameras, internet access or other equipment required for remote training, although we are happy to provide general guidance about what is needed.

You are responsible for ensuring that your equipment and internet connection are suitable for participating in the service.

9. Equipment and technology

10. Veterinary care and your dog's health

Being Dog provides dog training and behaviour support and is not a veterinary practice.

Being Dog does not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medication. Where appropriate, we may recommend that you discuss your dog's behaviour, health or possible medical support with your veterinarian, and we are happy to work alongside veterinary care.

You agree to tell Being Dog about relevant health conditions, illness, injury or medication that could affect your dog's behaviour or ability to train.

Every dog and situation is different. Although Being Dog will provide its services with reasonable care and skill, a particular behavioural outcome, duration of comfortable alone time or timeframe for progress cannot be guaranteed.

Progress in separation anxiety training is rarely linear. Your dog's responses and ability to cope may vary from day to day, and progress can be affected by many factors, including health, environment, unavoidable absences, consistency of training and changes in circumstances.

Training will be adapted according to your dog's responses. Where your dog shows signs of discomfort or distress, the training plan may need to be adjusted or progress rebuilt from an earlier comfortable stage.

11. Behavioural outcomes

You remain responsible for your dog and for decisions about your dog's day-to-day care, environment and safety.

Please follow the safety and management guidance provided during training and let Being Dog know if circumstances arise that make the recommended plan difficult or unsafe to follow.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your legal rights or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Responsibility and safety

13. Confidentiality, privacy and recordings

To provide separation anxiety services, Being Dog may receive personal information and video recordings relating to you, your dog and your home environment. This information will only be used where necessary to provide and administer your service, unless you give separate permission for another use or disclosure is required by law.

Online consultations may be recorded where this has been agreed with you, including where a recording is provided to you for your own reference.

Your videos, photographs, case information or recorded sessions will not be used publicly for marketing, social media, case studies or external educational purposes without your separate permission.

14. Training materials

Training plans, written guidance, handouts, videos and other materials supplied by Being Dog are provided for your personal use in connection with your dog.

Please do not reproduce, publish, distribute or share Being Dog's materials publicly or commercially without prior permission.

Where you book a service remotely, you may have a statutory right to cancel the contract within 14 days without giving a reason.

If you would like Being Dog to begin providing your assessment, programme or other service before that 14-day period has ended, you must expressly request that the service begins during the cancellation period.

If you subsequently exercise your statutory cancellation right after the service has begun at your request, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already provided, as permitted by law.

If the service is fully completed during the 14-day cancellation period following your express request that it begin during that period, you will lose your statutory right to cancel once the service has been fully performed.

To exercise your statutory right to cancel, contact Being Dog at zaira@beingdog.co.uk with a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You may use the statutory model cancellation form if you wish, but you do not have to.
